Clerk-auditor presents modest fee updates; commission approves first reading

The Weber County Commission on June 17 held a first reading of a fee ordinance updating certain charges in the County Clerk-Auditor's office and advanced the item for later consideration.
Stephanie Ebert presented the proposed changes, saying the management team reevaluated fees and recommended mostly small adjustments. "A few increases of just a dollar for some certified copies of marriage licenses and also taking away some fees for voter certificate voter certificates," Ebert said, describing the package as "not really too many substantial substantive changes."
Commissioners asked limited substantive questions during the hearing. Commissioner Jim Harvey moved to approve the first reading as presented and the motion was seconded and adopted without recorded opposition. The measure will return for any final-reading steps before becoming effective.
Ebert did not provide a full list of every affected fee in the presentation; the commission and public will have an opportunity to review the ordinance text before final adoption.
