The Lakota Board of Education on June 16 approved superintendent-recommended substitute-teacher pay rates and summer-work pay for the 2025–26 school year.
District staff said the Butler County substitute consortium requires districts to adopt annual sub rates so the consortium can process payroll consistently throughout the year. Board members indicated the approved rates are competitive regionally and that the district last year had adjusted rates midyear to remain competitive.
The motion to approve substitute and summer-work pay rates passed on roll call; recorded yes votes included Miss Casper, Mister Wharton, Mister d, Miss French and Miss Schaffer.
Staff noted the adopted rates will be implemented for the coming school year and used by the consortium in assigning and paying substitutes and summer workers.
