Port Washington swears in deputy fire chief and new firefighter-EMT

The City of Port Washington on June 17 formally swore in Deputy Fire Chief Brandon Boettcher and Firefighter-EMT Nicholas Kelly during the Common Council meeting.
The city clerk administered the oath of office for Nicholas Kelly and later for Brandon Boettcher. Kelly said he grew up in Sussex, Waukesha County and has lived in the Port Washington area since 2019. After the oath, Kelly introduced his family in the council chamber and the mayor thanked his family for their support.
Deputy Fire Chief Boettcher introduced his wife Andrea, daughter Ava and other family members after his swearing-in. The mayor and council welcomed the new deputy chief and the new firefighter-EMT and noted the importance of public-safety personnel to the community; the mayor asked the new members to join the departments family ceremonial pinning and helmet ceremony at the station following the meeting.

Council members made light remarks about community traditions and asked the new firefighter to bring cake to the station later in the evening; the meeting then proceeded to the consent agenda.
