The Clark County Board unanimously approved an overnight, out-of-state trip for Area Technology Center (ATC) students to attend the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference in Atlanta, Georgia, June 23–27, 2025.
A staff member said the overnight, out-of-state nature of the conference required board approval and that the item did not appear on the regular meeting agenda. A board member asked whether the lodging location in Atlanta was known; the staff member said details on exact lodging were not yet included but that sponsors would be advised and meeting attendees would be kept together. A board member noted the importance of supervising students and keeping them together while in Atlanta.
The staff member confirmed the attendees listed in the packet were "just 2 students and math members," and the board accepted that representation. Miss Hall moved to approve the overnight trip; Mister Dorsey seconded and the motion carried 5-0.
