Aaron said the district has not yet spent funds on rebranding and is identifying costs; donations have been offered to support land‑acknowledgment plaques and other materials.
He said curriculum steps include classroom lessons about Elvehjem’s scientific contributions and materials that discuss the restrictive covenant and its impact on housing. Aaron noted tariffs and supply cost increases have raised the price of plaques and thanked donors who offered to underwrite one plaque. The district will continue planning and return with more specific cost and implementation recommendations.
Board members expressed support and asked staff to proceed carefully with both logistics and the educational materials. No formal vote or additional funding was requested at the meeting.
