The Smyrna Mayor and Council voted unanimously on June 16 to annex a 7.55-acre parcel at 1990 Watkins Road into the city, adopting Ordinance 2025-005 with an effective date of July 1, 2025.
The ordinance covers a tract described as Land Lot 683 in Cobb County and designates the property as part of Ward 7. The reading of the ordinance identified the parcel as heavy industrial in zoning classification.
Council members approved the annexation by voice vote; a motion received a second from Councilmember Pickens and the council recorded unanimous approval, with Ms. Hines voting remotely in the affirmative.
The mayor was authorized to sign and execute all related documents. City staff did not identify any special conditions attached to the annexation during the meeting.
The annexed parcel joins the city's municipal boundaries and will be subject to Smyrna ordinances and taxes beginning July 1, 2025.
