Homewood’s committee voted to accept a $10,000 Library Services and Technology grant and to provide the required 25% local match.
Library Director Judith Wright told the committee the grant award is $10,000 and that the city’s local match is 25%, or $2,500, meaning the library will pay $12,500 upfront and be reimbursed $10,000 after submitting required reports. Wright said the city expects reimbursement by mid-August.
“...we have received a grant for $10,000. Our local matches 25%, which is $2,500. So we will pay the full amount of $12,500 and be reimbursed for the $10,000 once you submit reports,” Wright said.
The committee approved acceptance of the grant by voice vote, recorded as 5–0. Wright said the grant will fund additional titles for the children’s collection.
Staff will submit the grant reports required for reimbursement and track the project in the library’s capital/project accounts.
