District staff told the board they rewrote tuition-reimbursement language to reflect different degrees, licenses and certifications, clarified when the district requires training versus when staff pursue credentials independently, and noted participation in the master's-degree reimbursement is capped and paused for new cohorts in the near term. The district said existing participants will be allowed to finish their programs.
The board also approved a clarified practice for summer curriculum work: in lieu of cash, teachers may earn one curriculum personal day for every 10 hours of summer curriculum development, up to two days per summer. Extra-duty stipends (for activities such as game-night ticket sales, event staffing, and similar roles) were increased by 5% and rounded in some instances (for example, items previously at $27.50 were changed to $30). Staff said the changes make the process clearer for employees and better align pay schedules with current practice.
Board members asked whether the master egree participation pause required annual review; staff said the language could be revisited when budget conditions change. The board approved the framework revisions by motion and voice vote.
