The Oldsmar City Council approved a contract to award Ring Power Corporation a three-year maintenance agreement for the city's fleet of Caterpillar generators, with the first-year cost budgeted at $45,792.41 for 13 generators.
Staff told council reliable operation of the city's 14 generators is critical to the fire department and public safety functions; one generator is being replaced at the water reclamation facility so the contract covers 13 units in the first year. The scope includes routine maintenance, load testing, inspections and repair recommendations. Staff recommended Ring Power because it is an authorized Caterpillar dealer and a significant portion of the city's fleet is Caterpillar equipment.
Council approved the contract by voice vote and staff said future years of the agreement will be brought forward for council approval as part of the annual procurement process.
