The Port Angeles City Council on Tuesday approved several public-works contracts and service purchases aimed at repairing aging utility infrastructure and paving priority streets.

The council approved a $1.189 million construction contract with InterWest Construction Inc. for the Sixteenth Street stormwater retrofit project, funded primarily by a $1.667 million Washington State Department of Ecology water-quality grant that pays most project costs.
