The Village Board on June 16 approved a resolution consenting to a Cook County Class 7a real-estate tax assessment classification for the property described in the meeting record as "370 One-three 73 West Dundee Road," the future home of The Wheelhouse restaurant.
Village staff explained that the applicant, an A La Carte Entertainment group that operates Moretti's, is proposing to expand banquet and event space and to open a new restaurant called The Wheelhouse in the space formerly housing Mia's and currently occupied by Arctic Spoon. "The applicant proposes to expand their banquet event and party space...as well as establishing a new restaurant called The Wheelhouse," a staff presenter said.
Staff distinguished a Class 7a classification (for investments under $2 million including purchase and capital improvements) from a Class 7b classification for larger investments; the presenter said the incentives are otherwise the same. Trustees asked about the building size and entertainment: staff said the combined building is "about 6,588 square feet, combined" and that the new space would likely accommodate some live music as an adjunct to Moretti's.
Trustees voted by roll call to approve the resolution consenting to the Class 7a assessment classification for the property and the project as presented. No changes to the incentive terms were recorded at the meeting.
