The Farmers Branch City Council approved the city’s 2025 board, commission and committee appointments on June 17 but tabled the Valwood Improvement Authority appointment to allow review of an additional applicant.
Staff reported it had received one additional Valwood application after the agenda was posted and that the candidate passed the required background check. Councilmembers asked to postpone action on the Valwood appointment so both candidates could be reviewed and the council could consider the slate at the next regular meeting.
Mayor Terri Lynn opened the item and staff recommended approval of the slate with the exception of the Valwood seat. A motion to approve the appointments with the Valwood vacancy held for later consideration carried. Council instructed staff to process the remaining appointments so orientation and board activities can proceed on schedule.
