The Richmond City Council approved two special event requests at its meeting.
The council granted Richmond Moose Lodge No. 2575 permission to place a 10-by-20 tent partially in the undeveloped Lane Street right-of-way for a micro wedding expected to host about 50–60 people. Tammy Misco, president of the Richmond Moose Lodge, told the council the tent would expand capacity beyond the indoor room that has a 50-person limit per fire code. The lodge said the tent would be installed Friday and removed by Sunday evening or, at the latest, Monday morning.
The council also approved a request from the Lois Wagner Memorial Library to host a single mobile food vendor — a Kona Ice truck — on Thursday, July 31 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. The library’s representative said the truck is part of the summer reading program celebration; the library reported more than 100 finishers last year.
Both items were approved by voice vote without further conditions recorded in the meeting minutes.
