Public Works staff requested funding to replace aging dumpsters at the Loma Linda landfill and at the county’s transfer stations, saying existing containers are more than 20 years old and require frequent welding and maintenance.
Staff presented three vendor quotes and recommended American Made Dumpsters as the lowest bidder and a compatible vendor used by nearby recycling haulers. The requested purchase included three 40-yard roll-off dumpsters for Loma Linda Landfill and two front-end enclosed dumpsters for the Blue transfer station.
A motion to approve the purchase not to exceed $33,000 was made, seconded and adopted by voice vote. Staff said the new dumpsters will reduce maintenance time and additional hauling charges when the county’s roll-off truck is unavailable.
