The purchase was introduced during the manager’s report. Council members said they had previously discussed higher pricing and that staff and council representatives sought competitive pricing at a vendor conference; the chosen price of $85,190 was described as substantially lower than earlier estimates. Councilman Cannon moved the authorization and Councilman Cagioli seconded; the motion carried on a roll-call vote.
Staff said some site work had already been completed by borough crews before equipment installation; the contract approval will be finalized following the solicitor’s contract review. Council emphasized the intent to proceed with installation this season pending that final approval.
