Crest Hill awards $716,911 roadway‑rehabilitation contract; engineer lists streets included

The Crest Hill City Council voted June 16 to award a $716,911.65 contract to PT Farrell Construction Company for the city’s 2025 roadway rehabilitation program. City Engineer Ron Wiedemann told the council the bid came in under budget and that the city will look at additional locations with remaining funds.
Wiedemann listed the streets planned for work: Loach Lane (Gaylord to Carlton), Abbey Lane (Loach Lane to Prestwick Drive), Prestwick Drive (Abbey Lane to the east end), Scott Court (off Prestwick Drive), Crestwood Drive (Dumar to Linwood Street), Linwood Street (Grandview to Imperial Drive), Elsie Avenue (Kelsey to Clement), Rose Avenue (Kelsey to Clement), Ludwig Avenue (Wilcox to Clement) and other local links. He said the contract award would allow staff to begin contracting and expected work to start in early August after executing documents.
Alderman Angela Desario moved to award the contract and Alderman Nate Albert seconded. The motion passed by recorded vote.
Wiedemann said the bid amount on the agenda correctly reflected PT Farrell’s low bid and apologized that a paragraph in the memo carried over figures from the prior year’s documents. He said because the contract came in under budget the city will evaluate additional segments for repair.
Council members asked staff to coordinate construction timing with other scheduled events in the city to avoid conflicts on repaired streets.
