Rangeley to submit $50,000 CDBG tuition-assistance request for new childcare center

On a motion made and seconded during the meeting, the Board voted to authorize the town manager (authorized official) to sign and submit the CDBG application to the appropriate state office. The public hearing opened when the chair invited project staff to present the application and closed later in the meeting after the Board voted on the authorization.
The Board did not set program rules in the hearing; project representatives said eligibility would follow the state’s Childcare Assistance Program sliding-scale model but noted that the state program was not accepting new applicants at present. The representatives also said they had raised some private funds to supplement tuition assistance.
