- Permission to apply for FDOT FY26 Section 5311 non‑urbanized area formula funds of $176,811 to support the Indian Town non‑urbanized bus route; the transit operating budget includes an equal match.
- Acceptance of the Florida Department of Health FY25 EMS Trust Fund grant for $22,360.99 to purchase EMS equipment; no match required.
- Acceptance of a Florida Department of Transportation Small County Outreach Program (SCOP) supplemental agreement that increases FDOT participation by $167,727 and decreases the county’s local requirement by $1,700,000 for the Southwest Fox Brown Road project (funding is budgeted in the CIP).
- Acceptance of a United States EPA 2023 South Florida geographic initiatives grant for $400,000 to fund water quality, land‑use and sediment nutrient analysis; a $80,000 match is budgeted in Environmental Resources operational funds.
- Acceptance of Amendment No. 1 for the Port Salerno/New Monrovia vacuum sewer system project from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection: initial amount reported at $500,000 increased by $12,500,000 for a total of $13,000,000 to extend sewer availability to approximately 960 parcels and reduce nutrient loading from onsite septic systems.
- Acceptance of a Clean Vessel Act grant for $91,210 with a $30,403 match for operation and maintenance of the pump‑out boat program.
- Acceptance of State Aid to Libraries grant from the Florida Department of State for $75,883 to fund a full‑time library specialist position (no local match required).
Commissioners asked clarifying questions about match formulas and grant criteria; Murley explained match amounts are set by the issuing agencies and vary by program. A motion to approve all Department 1 items passed by unanimous voice vote.
