The Wyoming City Council voted to renew the annual special-use permits for the city’s child day-care and nursery school facilities and a group home after staff inspections found the facilities in compliance with their permits.
Acting City Manager Megan Stapp Blake presented the item, saying, “This is our annual renewal of special use permits for daycares, nursery schools, and the group home. Staff has inspected each of the facilities. All are in compliance with their primary permits, and we do recommend approval tonight.” No members of the public spoke during the hearing and the council closed the public comment portion before taking the vote.
Council moved and seconded the renewal. During discussion one council member said they would abstain because they serve as chair of one of the listed entities; the clerk then called the roll and the motion carried. The approval continues the permits’ current status and leaves the facilities subject to the city’s annual review process.
This action was procedural and based on staff inspection and recommendation; no changes to operating conditions or permit terms were proposed during the meeting.
