The Madison County School Board on June 16 approved a union ratification that, among other items, establishes a rubric for awarding supplemental pay (for sports and clubs) and changes the payment schedule for those supplements to three times per year rather than monthly.
Dr. Pickles explained union representatives met and ratified the negotiated terms; the new rubric will be required for groups and coaches to complete in order to receive their supplements. "So the union has ratified this, and then they brought it back to me to sign... so I do recommend this," she said.
Nut graf: Board approval finalizes the changes to supplement administration negotiated with the union; the new process ties payment to completion of required rubrics and shifts supplement payouts to three installments per year.
The board moved and approved the ratification on a unanimous vote. The board also noted these changes came out of a sports committee and that implementation of the rubric and the new payout schedule will be handled through the district's payroll and athletic supplement processes.
