Trustees of the Punta Gorda General Employees Retirement System voted by voice to reselect Bradley Teats as the board's elected fifth trustee; plan staff will submit the appointment to the Punta Gorda City Council for ratification.
Plan administrator Chrissy told the board, "Mister chair, you are the elected fifth member on the board. So, Bradley's term is going to expire July 15. So we've got a few more weeks. The rest of the board, if you wish to reselect Bradley as your fifth trustee, we would just need a, a majority of you to to vote to keep him." Bradley responded, "I would if the if it is the the liking of the remaining of the trustees, I will continue to serve, but I will not be upset if they come up with a better replacement."
A motion to keep Teats as the elected fifth trustee received a second and passed on a voice vote. One trustee stated, "I'll I'll recuse myself from voting," during the motion; the meeting record shows the motion carried with aye votes and no recorded nays. Staff said they would submit Teats' name to the city council for formal ratification.
Provenance: The nomination and vote on Bradley Teats begin when plan staff initiated the reappointment discussion and end after staff confirmed the submission to city council for ratification.
