Council authorizes purchase agreement for $699,000 track loader from Sourcewell vendor

Cathy Chambers told the council the city previously discussed the track loader at a work session and that purchasing will require a lead time. Mayor Cowan asked to enter the purchase agreement with Thompson Tractor, a Caterpillar dealer on the Sourcewell vendor list, noting a 16–20 week production lead time and that the city expects to rebuild the existing unit to recoup value.
Council members moved, seconded and approved the mayor’s request by voice vote. Chambers said no formal action on the earlier item was required but staff proceeded with the purchase authorization at the mayor’s request.
