Board approves eight policy updates on second reading

Interim policy items presented by Chief Financial Officer Sharon Mahaffey included Curriculum Development (Policy 3100); Foreign Exchange Students (Policy 4140); Fair and Consistent Discipline Administration (Policy 4303); Integrity and Civility (Policy 4310); Parent Organizations (Policy 5010); Crowdfunding on Behalf of the School System (Policy 7360); Federal Grant Administration (Policy 8305); and Participation by Minority Businesses (Policy 9125). Mahaffey said she solicited input during the month the policies were posted and received none, and she asked the board to approve the policies on second reading.
A motion to approve the second readings was moved by Board Member Anthony McLean and seconded by Rob Arguelles; the board voted aye unanimously.
Mahaffey said eight additional policies were posted for first reading and would be brought back next month for action pending any public input.
