TIPP CITY, Ohio — Tipp City Council on Monday approved a resolution authorizing the city manager to enter into a consulting-services agreement with Brandstetter Carroll Inc., of Cincinnati, to prepare a comprehensive parks and recreation master plan for all Tipp City parks at a cost of $136,000.
City staff said the expenditure was included in this year’s capital improvement plan and that Brandstetter Carroll was not selected through a competitive bid process because the firm previously prepared a parks master plan and worked on the design of the city’s aquatic facility. Eric Mack called Brandstetter Carroll “one of the best in regards to Parks Master Plan.”
Council opened a public hearing on the resolution; seeing no speakers, the hearing was closed and the measure passed unanimously as Resolution 19-25. Mack indicated the agreement covers professional services to complete the master plan and is funded through the capital plan line item for parks planning.
The master plan will guide park improvements and design standards citywide; staff did not present a timeline for completion during the meeting but said the work is part of ongoing capital planning.
