TIPP CITY, Ohio — Tipp City Council unanimously approved a resolution authorizing the city manager to enter into an agreement with American Municipal Power Inc. (AMP) to execute a fixed-volume energy supply schedule for 2025–2027.
City staff described AMP as the city’s nonprofit partner for Tipp City Electric’s energy procurement and said the resolution authorizes purchases of additional energy for the remainder of 2025 through 2027 at a cost not to exceed $74 per megawatt-hour.
Council opened a public hearing on the resolution and, seeing no speakers, closed the hearing before calling the vote. The resolution passed on a unanimous vote and is recorded as Resolution 18-25 in the meeting minutes.
City staff did not present detailed quantities of megawatt-hours to be purchased during the meeting; the resolution authorizes the schedule and a per-megawatt-hour price cap but staff did not state a total budget or total megawatt-hour quantity at the meeting.
