Dothan City leaders herald new downtown city hall as next 50 years of growth

Commissioner (unnamed 1) said the Dothan City Commission held a groundbreaking for a planned new city hall at the corner of Oateson Main in downtown Dothan, describing the project as the "next phase that will be the next 50 years for city business."

Commissioner (unnamed 2) pointed to other recent investments, saying, "When I say a Dothan city that's on the move, you look at what we have going on, the new opera house, Wiregrass Innovation Center, and now the groundbreaking of what's gonna be the new city hall."

Commissioner (unnamed 3) credited local residents for driving demand for projects, saying, "The people are of Dothan are the reason that we sit up here today, and I think a lot of times we get a lot of credit for for these types of things, but I don't think that's where the credit is due. I think it's to the citizens of Dothan who demand great things from us, demand progress forward, and so thank you to everyone who's had a part in this."

At the close of remarks, Commissioner (unnamed 1) reiterated pride in the commission's role, saying, "We are a city on the move. I'm proud to be in part of Dothan, Alabama. This commission. I look forward to seeing this come to fruition."
