Clerk-Treasurer Mark Petty summarized the ordinance, which included about $54,000 of adjustments in the general fund for items such as dumpsters and landfill operations, corrections to LERU fund balances, and budgeting for shelter costs in the rainy day fund after prior encumbrances failed. Petty said the EMS LIT contract requires that unused grant funds be returned, so moving paramedic payroll into EMS LIT will allow the city to spend grant funds this year rather than return them.
Council moved and seconded the ordinance and approved first reading by unanimous voice vote. Petty said further appropriations may follow later in the year to account for additional new-housing redevelopment funds or other grants. The ordinance was read by title and scheduled to move forward for subsequent readings and public notice as required.
