Wilsonville’s council on Monday presented the first Stormwater Stewards awards to three property owners and outlined a new recognition program that will spotlight private-property stormwater maintenance and low-impact development practices.
Kerry Rappold, the city’s Natural Resources Manager, and Jim Carton, environmental specialist, told the council that roughly 87% of the city’s stormwater facilities are privately owned and that the new program will highlight owners who consistently submit maintenance reports and maintain healthy vegetative and soil conditions.
