County planning staff said they had received the initial ordinance draft and several responses but did not yet have a finalized packet. Staff told the board a special Planning Commission meeting will be scheduled and publicly posted no sooner than 10 days after the packet is available online; the commission will then resume public hearings on the ordinance. A planning staff member said anyone who wants further changes may appear at the Planning Commission to request amendments.
Staff also reported that a developer formerly identified as National Grid Renewables has changed corporate branding and should now be referred to as Geronimo Energy; Brookfield acquired the developer and also owns other proposers active in the county. Commissioners accepted that update and returned the item to the Planning Commission process.
Several members of the public said they want the revised ordinance posted and a public meeting without additional delay. One commenter said the amendments were “simple” and asked why the updated language had not been transmitted earlier to the Planning Commission.
County staff will post the ordinance packet online and set the special Planning Commission meeting following the county’s public‑notice timeline.
