Riley Baker, general services director, told the commissioners on June 4 that contracted work on the John Gumb building by Amaresco is complete and met project specifications, and he recommended acceptance of the work and issuance of final payment.
Baker said his staff inspected the completed work and, based on the final invoice and documentation from the contractor, recommended the board accept the work as complete. He noted one remaining project with Amaresco — a solar installation funded by a roughly $1 million grant — and said that design work is in final stages and some conduit and electrical engineering work has already started.
A commissioner asked whether the county should add the necessary documents to the next consent agenda for signatures; staff agreed the closeout and associated paperwork would be added to a future consent agenda. No formal dispute or hold was recorded; Baker said he disagreed about specific window details earlier in the project but that the issue was resolved and it was time to proceed to final payment.
