County commissioners approve courthouse office reorganization to free space for appraiser and HR

The Neosho County Board of Commissioners on June 3 approved a plan to reassign interior courthouse rooms to address office-space shortages raised by the county appraiser.
Under the approved plan, the county appraiser will take over the survey room currently used by the register of deeds; the register of deeds will move into the HR/payroll room; HR and payroll functions will relocate into the current commissioners’ meeting room; and the commissioners’ meeting functions will shift to the basement meeting room. The commission instructed county facilities staff to sequence moves as soon as practical and to add necessary network and communications boosters for basement operations.
Commissioners said the changes aim to keep departmental workspaces largely on the same courthouse level where possible and to free space for departments that serve the public frequently. County staff will prepare a move schedule and identify any additional equipment or network needs before physical relocation.
