Construction update: Scott Memorial and Fort Chiswell work wraps; HVAC testing complete

Dr. Hager told the Wythe County Public Schools board on Jan. 9 that construction punch lists at Scott Memorial have been reduced significantly and multiple site and finish items are near completion.
"The owner punch list and the A and E punch list, they're down about 30 items when they were in the several hundreds," Dr. Hager reported, noting the construction office trailer was sold and that final sidewalk repairs, added sidewalks to improve flow, keying and door hardware work, and outstanding handrail and metalwork remain. He said testing and balancing of all HVAC systems has been completed and that the lighting company was completing final programming on external and some internal lighting.
Dr. Hager said plaques for the building will be ready for the board next Thursday, and that the facility will host a joint ribbon-cutting with the board of supervisors at 5:30 p.m. (date announced during the meeting). He noted some minor subcontractor punch-list items remain.
No formal board action was taken on the construction update during the meeting; the presentation was informational and scheduled ahead of a public ribbon-cutting and tour next week.
