Crook County approves road renaming at Posada Ranch, files order 2025-16

The Crook County Board of Commissioners approved Order 2025-16 on May 21 to rename a private road within the Posada Ranch subdivision (a portion of Phase 14). Staff presented the order and opened a public hearing; no members of the public spoke and the board closed the hearing and adopted the order.
Community Development staff explained that Southwest Treehouse Court was originally approved in 2023 and that a replat of Phase 14 had been approved earlier to return those lots to single-family lot sizes; the most recent replat for the same portion of Phase 14 has not yet been recorded with the county surveyor. Staff said the applicant (Posada) owns all lots on the road, simplifying the renaming process. County code requires a public-notice period and a public hearing under Crook County Code §12-123-00 for road renaming; staff recommended the single hearing be sufficient.
The applicant told staff the developer wishes the new name to be available for Memorial Day weekend; staff said that timing contributed to moving the item forward. The board voted to approve Order 2025-16 by voice vote with no recorded opposition.
