Crook County amends OHA contract and increases Mosaic payment to support school-based health services

The Crook County Board of Commissioners on May 21 approved amendments to the county’s Oregon Health Authority (OHA) intergovernmental agreement and to the county’s subcontract with Mosaic Community Health that update certification language and provide additional funds for the county’s school-based health center.
Health department staff told the board this amendment to the OHA IGA moves approximately $99,000 in prevention funding out of the current fiscal year to make it available next fiscal year; the funds were not eliminated but reallocated to be spent later with OHA approval. Staff also said OHA awarded an additional $7,000 to support the county’s school-based health center.
Separately, the board approved an amendment to the Mosaic Community Health subcontract that aligns county contract language with updated certification standards for certified school-based health centers and increases the county’s monthly subcontract payment to help offset the higher operating costs Mosaic faces. Staff said Mosaic is already meeting the updated certification standards and has regional infrastructure to bill for services, but the increased county payment helps cover uncompensated operating expenses.
Both items were approved by motion with no recorded opposition. No specific dollar figure for the increased monthly Mosaic payment was provided in the meeting record.
