Bowling Green swears in two police promotions: Vincent Snyder named sergeant; Jeff Lowery named lieutenant

Bowling Green City Council administered oaths of office Monday to two Bowling Green Police Division officers promoted to supervisory ranks. Vincent Snyder was sworn in as a police sergeant and Jeff Lowery was sworn in as a police lieutenant.

Mayor Mayer asked Chief White to administer the oaths. Chief White led both officers through the oath of office; after Snyder’s oath, officials congratulated him on the promotion. City officials said Snyder has served nine years with the department and has worked as a bike officer, field training officer, recruiter and staff head officer and that he has experience with the department’s mobile field force and youth outreach through a local educational service center.

Officials also introduced Lowery and administered his oath. City officials said Lowery has served roughly 24 years with the department and has held roles including bike officer, field-training officer, training officer and long-term team leader on the special response team. After Lowery’s oath, councilors and officials congratulated him on his promotion to lieutenant.

These were administrative promotions; no council vote was recorded in the meeting minutes for the appointments, which were announced and enacted by oath.
