Staff said the 60‑minute limit permits parking-enforcement officers to enforce time limits more effectively than the current arrangement. The committee discussed winter impacts on spaces near the retaining wall and the need to maintain designated staff parking for department heads; staff said the plan would retain a reduced number of staff spaces near the building and could add an additional accessible space. One member asked how many accessible parking spots would be available; staff said there is currently one accessible spot and one mobility‑challenged space and that they expect to increase accessible spots to at least two if the plan is approved.
Committee members moved and seconded the staff recommendation; with no objections, the proposal will be placed on the full City Council agenda for action ahead of the city’s planned move back to City Hall.
