The Pingree Grove Village Board approved an ordinance amending Village Code Title 7, Chapter 4 (stop intersections and turning restrictions) and simultaneously approved a traffic and parking regulation agreement with Cambridge Lakes Charter School that enables enforcement of a posted restriction on school property.
Staff said the change updates the code to reflect stop signs and turning restrictions installed since 2008 and formalizes a restriction to prohibit left turns onto West Wester during school pick-up between 3 and 4 p.m. One reason for the intergovernmental agreement is that one of the needed signs sits on school property; the agreement provides the legal authority for village enforcement of that sign.
Trustees moved to approve both items in omnibus format. The roll call recorded unanimous approval: Trustee McCurdy — yes; Trustee Hague — yes; Trustee Wingels — yes; Trustee Tarnow — yes; Trustee Peony — yes; Trustee Hall — yes. The motions carried and the ordinance and school agreement were adopted.
