Commission approves Tumwater police entry-level and sergeant eligibility lists

Administrative Services Director Michelle Sutherland reported that 17 candidates now appear on the entry-level police officer list; four candidates were added and one was removed when his eligibility expired. Later in the meeting she asked the commission to approve the police sergeant list after the sergeant exam administered in May produced five passing candidates.
Commissioners moved and seconded motions to approve each list. Wendy Moudy moved to approve the entry-level list and Pat Schneider seconded; the commission approved the list by voice vote. Pat Schneider moved to approve the five candidates for the police sergeant list and Moudy seconded; that motion also passed by voice vote.
The approvals update the commission’s active eligibility lists used for hiring and promotion. No changes to testing standards were reported at the meeting; staff said they would implement the lists for forthcoming hiring and promotional activity.
