The agent advised that if the property owner later wants to fill the area with rock, they would need to submit either a Request for Determination of Applicability (RDA) or an abbreviated Notice of Intent because the work is in the stream buffer; the agent said the disturbed area is under 1,000 square feet.
The commission also considered annual dues for the Massachusetts Association of Conservation Commissions (MACC). The conservation agent said the development services director normally budgets the membership; the agent provided the cost breakdown on the record (about $221 for five commissioners plus an additional $65 for the agent), noting the membership provides manuals, training and a resource for technical questions. Commissioner Christophe moved to renew membership; the motion was seconded and carried by roll call with all members voting yes.
The agent said printed materials and the updated membership information will be distributed to commissioners at the next meeting.
