The Hatboro‑Horsham School District board heard a construction update on the new Keith Valley Middle School on June 16, 2025, that set specific inspection and move dates and outlined remaining demolition and field‑construction work.
District‑contract construction manager Bill Hambly of CHA and district administrators told the board that classroom and district administration furniture deliveries are in progress, a kitchen Board of Health inspection is scheduled for June 24, and a pool final inspection is scheduled for June 30. District administration and some district office spaces are expected to receive a partial certificate of occupancy this week, allowing staged moves to begin.
The presentation described a multiweek moving schedule: district administration moves June 27–July 3; relocation from the old Keith Valley building into the new facility July 7–11; and the district anticipates obtaining full certificate of occupancy the week of July 5 (dates provided by the presenter). Abatement and demolition for the old district administration building and the old Keith Valley building are planned afterward, with abatement starting about July 14 and finishing on or about July 25, and demolition of the district administration building beginning about July 28 and finishing around Aug. 22, 2025. The presentation stated site and athletic field work — including backfilling and field construction — is scheduled to start Jan. 26 and finish in August 2026.
Staff also reviewed site circulation and parking. The new campus has three separate entrances: a combined Keith Valley staff and district administration parking lot accessed from Upland Avenue; a parent drop‑off loop and visitor Lot B off Meeting House Road (paved and expected to be fully accessible in August 2025); and a separate bus/receiving entrance that drops students near the gym. The district expects tennis courts to be available for the start of the school year, and administrators said tours and community open‑house dates are being posted on the district website.
The board later approved facilities recommendations tied to the project, including a ratification of an allowance adjustment for the Keith Valley project and other capital increases and flooring replacements requested by the facilities committee. Those items were taken together as consent items on the board agenda and were approved by voice vote.
Why it matters: The timeline affects families, staff and district operations because of staged moves, temporary closures for moving, and the timing for athletics and community uses of new facilities. The district said it will post guides and tour dates on the Keith Valley opening web page and that the administration offices will be closed during moving days listed in the presentation.
Board action and next steps: The facilities items related to Keith Valley were presented as agenda items 7a–7c and were approved by the board at the June 16 meeting. District staff said they expect to post updated public information, and that future board meetings may be held at the new Keith Valley site in the community room once final construction steps are complete.
