The Planning Commission on June 16 voted to recommend rezoning a small, isolated agricultural parcel at 113-115 David Allen Drive to low-density residential (R-1) so the owner's family member may build a house.
Planning staff explained the parcel is an isolated roughly three-acre remnant surrounded by R-1 properties the applicant already owns; staff said agricultural use is not practical for that piece and that residential zoning would align with surrounding properties. Applicant David Allen Kraus and planning staff member Nicholas Northcutt both answered commissioners' questions about parcel size and context.
Commissioner Sellers moved to forward a favorable recommendation; the motion was seconded and carried by voice vote. The proposal will go to the Board of Mayor and Aldermen for final consideration.
