The Metropolitan Council of Nashville and Davidson County approved a consent agenda that included ordinances and resolutions accepting new public water and sanitary sewer infrastructure, authorizing easements for stormwater and sewer projects, and approving a lease amendment for office space at 1281 Murfreesboro Pike.
The package—taken on the consent calendar—contained multiple items authorizing Metro to accept public water mains, sanitary sewer mains and manholes, fire hydrant assemblies, and associated easements for several subdivisions and developments (including Earhart Subdivision Phase 1; City Vista Phase 2; Rio Vista Drive sewer extension; Brentwood Chase; Stoker’s Village Phase 2; Bellfield Townhomes; Donaldson Pike Industrial West). It also included ordinances authorizing Metro to acquire permanent and temporary easements for the Valley View Road stormwater improvement project and the Conair Drive stormwater improvement project, and a resolution approving a third amendment to a lease between the Metropolitan Government and Nashville Metropolitan LLC for office space at 1281 Murfreesboro Pike.
The consent agenda was presented by the presiding officer, called for a motion, and “moved and properly seconded.” With no members requesting items be pulled and no discussion, the council voted on the consent calendar; the presiding officer recorded the vote as 8 in favor, 0 against, 0 not voting. The consent items were approved.
Many of the ordinances on the consent calendar transfer completed infrastructure to Metro for operation and maintenance or authorize Metro to acquire easements needed for stormwater and sewer projects. Items appearing on the consent calendar were listed by ordinance or resolution number during the meeting: RS 20 25 13 o 4 (lease third amendment for 1281 Murfreesboro Pike); RS 20 25 13 17 (accept public water and sanitary sewers for Earhart Subdivision Phase 1); BL 20 25 8 50 (easements for Valley View Road stormwater improvement and related property acquisitions); additional bills and ordinances included BL 20 25 8 52, BL 20 25 8 53, BL 20 25 8 54, BL 20 25 8 55, BL 20 25 8 56, BL 20 25 8 57, BL 20 25 8 58, and BL 20 25 8 59 as read into the record.
Because these items were approved on consent, no council debate or individual roll-call vote on each item was reported during the meeting. Any member who wished to remove an item from the consent calendar had the opportunity to do so before the captions were read, but no items were pulled.
The council moved on to other business after the vote.
