The resolution passed on a unanimous roll call after Vice President Cooper moved it and Commissioner Richardson seconded. No commissioners registered questions during the recorded vote.
The minutes note the sheriff is "well vetted by this board," and the administration said a formal advice-and-consent hearing would occur at the next meeting where a permanent appointment, if approved, would be finalized.
