On June 3 the Mount Pleasant City Council approved pay request No. 7 to Wicker Construction Incorporated in the amount of $344,414.82 for work on the West Loop Wastewater Collection Project.
City staff said the pay request covers the laying of approximately 3,700 feet of 6‑inch, 8‑inch and 18‑inch sewer mains during the month and includes road bores and casings. Staff reported total installed sewer to date of about 19,000 feet and noted the original contract value at $9,816,351.10; prior payments totaled $3,898,042.18. The packet listed percent time complete at 41% and percent money at 29%.
"Pay request number 7 is in the amount of $344,414.82. This pay request is for the laying approximately 3,700 feet of 6 inch, 8 inch, and 18 inch sewer mains this month," the presenter said.
Council discussion touched on schedule. A council member asked whether the project remains on the projected schedule; staff replied that the contractor reported being ahead of schedule in some areas but that work is in a wet zone and progress depends on weather and completing bores. No change order or contract amendment was presented at the meeting.
A motion to approve the pay request was made and seconded; the council voted unanimously to approve the payment. Staff did not report a proposed change to the contract sum at the meeting.
