Staff said the 48 pagers cover volunteer firefighters and public-safety officers and include a few extras; the department pages responders about 30 times per year for incidents. The funds will come from the public-safety budget savings realized this year; staff noted $12,750 had been budgeted originally but that savings allowed purchase of the full set now.
Council voted to approve the purchase on a unanimous roll-call.
