Rye Brook modifies earlier resolution to advance stormwater engineering funds over two fiscal years

The Rye Brook Board of Trustees on May 27 approved a modification to a prior resolution so that funds for engineering services related to a potential Brook Lane stormwater drainage project may be advanced across two fiscal years.
The board had previously accepted Ramble (Ramble?) Engineering’s proposal for engineering services estimated at $100,000 to study and design a relocation and modification of stormwater drainage in the Brook Lane area. The original resolution advanced those funds from fiscal year 2024–25 until reimbursed by a New York State Homes and Community Renewal Resilient Investment through Support and Capital (RISK) Program grant.
Staff said Ramble Engineering’s work will continue into fiscal year 2025–26 and asked the board to modify the earlier authorization so the consultant may be paid from appropriations in both fiscal years and later reimbursed in full when the state grant funds are received. Trustees approved the modification; the mayor and administrator were authorized to execute related documents.
Staff emphasized they maintain regular contact with the state grant manager and that the project is active; the funding advance allocates village fund balance temporarily to ensure the engineering work continues on schedule.
