The Village of Rye Brook Board of Trustees on May 27 approved a three‑year agreement with Violytics Americas Inc. for road‑management software, at a proposed cost of $33,780 per year.
Staff described the software as a package that produces a map‑based, segment‑level inventory of pavement condition, potholes, cracking, and faded signage. The vendor’s system uses a mounted smartphone to capture imagery and an AI‑driven backend to generate condition ratings and prioritized lists for repair or replacement. Staff said the tool can be re‑run after repairs to refresh condition data and aid multi‑year capital planning.
Staff noted Violytics became the recommended vendor after the village’s prior vendor in the space (a Michelin‑branded program) stepped away from that business. The board approved the agreement and authorized the mayor and administrator to execute documents, with staff estimating initial setup and mapping could be completed within about a week of receiving equipment and access.
Trustees said they look forward to receiving the system’s output to support pavement capital planning and maintenance prioritization.
