The Jennings County School Corporation Board of Trustees unanimously accepted several donations to district schools and programs, including a $7,500 gift to the district’s Hope Food Program and a $2,500 donation to Jennings County High School FFA.
Other donations read into the record included $60 from Greg Hicks State Farm Insurance for a grade celebration at Brush Creek Elementary; multiple gift cards and service donations for teacher and staff appreciation week (Casey’s $100 gift cards; Tail Feathers 10 lunch-special gift cards; Purdy Nails deluxe pedicure and deluxe manicure; VIP Nails full nail set; Thoroughbred Car Wash $25 gift card; Rumors $30 tanning session gift card); Subway donated ten six-inch subs; and the Jennings County Community Foundation provided a $100 grant to a North Vernon Elementary classroom for an essay-contest prize.
A motion by Mary Lynn and second by Pat to accept the donations passed 5-0. The board did not attach conditions to the donations in the public record.
