City Administrator Laura Gloria summarized the agreement, telling the council the city owns the museum building at 127 S. Mission Street and the donation is specifically tied to a roughly $3 million capital scope of work described in the agreement: exterior structure and wall repairs, doors and windows, roof upgrades including vapor barriers and certain skylights, and seismic upgrades to portions of the building the city owns. The donation is a portion of the capital renovation work and is limited to the listed scope; “once that work is completed, our commitment is complete,” Gloria said.
Council member Cuevas moved approval and Council member Ewer seconded. Council approved the motion by voice vote.
Discussion versus decision: council approved the donation agreement and authorized the mayor’s signature; the action does not approve the entire project budget or additional phases beyond the scope in the donation agreement.
