Revelry Rotary offers benches to Casper Mountain Trail Center; trustees ask staff to coordinate placement

David Huff, representing the Revelry Club, asked the Parks trustees to accept a donated bench for the Casper Mountain Trail Center during the trustees' meeting.

The bench would be provided at no cost to the county; the donor asked that Parks pick the bench up at the City Service Center and bolt it in place at the Trail Center. "They would be of no cost to you. We're simply we would simply provide it to you, but we we don't deliver," Huff said.

The Revelry Club has installed benches in city parks and along trails since 2013 and told the trustees it now has about 30 benches installed around Casper with several more staged and ready for placement.

Michael, Parks staff, said the department has not yet determined the best location at the Trail Center and must take grooming and snow piling into account because the bench would be permanent. "Parks has yet to determine the best location at the trail center for it to I had to take into account grooming, piling of snow and whatnot since it'll be a permanent structure," Michael said.

Trustees expressed support for the donation and asked staff to coordinate the logistics. Chairman North said the trustees would follow up with Michael on placement. The meeting record shows no formal motion or roll-call vote accepting the bench; trustees instead directed staff to work with the donor and Parks crews to install the bench.

Next steps: Parks staff will identify a specific installation site at the Trail Center, confirm whether Parks crews can pick up and bolt the bench in place, and report back to the trustees.
